reactions to the death of Whitney Houston
Gov. Chris Christie on Wednesday strongly defended his decision to have flags lowered to half-staff on Saturday for Whitney Houston. You know I don't get this. Whitney fought a very public battle with drugs and alcohol. For years the public and the media tore her up over it. They put her on the pedestal just to tear her down. They laughed ,and scoffed and wrote some of the cruelest things about her. Now that Whitney is dead, everybody wants to say we've lost a legend. These people forget that when they write such horrible things that there is a human being behind the public persona. Did they think the tabloid crap would make her stresses any easier to deal with? I think a lot of people are feeling quite guilty now. They sort of share in that addiction.
